A CAREER WITH HAYS, I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING
It is a great pleasure for me to have you reading these paragraphs. Your reasons for this could be simple curiosity or a strong interest in a career in recruitment (or in Hays itself!). You might be an already established recruiter who knows precisely what you want in consulting, a fresh graduate open for any career route at this point, an expert from a particular industry looking to use this niche experience in another environment and so on. Regardless it’ll be a pleasure to share with you how I see working at Hays.
I will not lie to you by saying I always saw myself going into recruitment and Hays, probably it was just luck (or was it me calling Hays directly about a client’s vacancy?). But since it started I've never had a moment's regret – and I often share my statement of 2011 that Hays is the last agency I'll work for, and I still intend to keep that promise! During the last 10+ years here at Hays I’ve made progress from Associate (Researcher) to a biller who developed meaningful B2B practice in Russia from scratch – moving on to hire & manage a team – and then managing several teams. It was a bumpy road at times, but never a dull moment with lots of learns and lessons. And this journey took another interesting curve with my relocation to Romania in 2020 to continue the success story of our rapidly growing office in the role of Managing Director.
My strong belief is that the heart of any business is its people, and for Hays as a market leader in specialised recruitment this is 100% true. Despite our obvious competitive spirit we make sure that internally we have strong bonding and offer a shoulder of support when needed (and that’s how we overcame all possible and impossible crises in Russia before and now in Romania). Not only do we nurture a team of experts, but strong characters stepping outside their comfort zone and focusing on “how to's" rather than “why not's". And this is why we are successful in defying economic gravity at times, making sure that our people are developing and growing faster than markets and competitors.
We work in consulting – with people and reputation being key assets. I am certain that because our team shares common values in real life, this is the reason why so many people stay with Hays for many years – and keep on progressing their lives, having a challenging and rich professional experience here and creating fruitful lifelong connections with peers, clients & candidates.
